IDQ Portal originally is a VAX/VMS-based application, with a terminal-orientated user interface. Nowadays the IDQ Portal Server application still runs on VMS, but is also available on Intel. Design of the Graphic User Interface is based on years of operator experience and ergonomic considerations.
The IDQ Portal software is based on the E.115 protocol. This directory standard encompasses a set of request and reply conventions. Global directory data traffic is defined by this protocol and is transported by X.25 and TCP/IP.
